1. this is a song by elton john, who is definitely not emo.2. green day came before the whole modern emo trend, starting around the early-mid 90s.3. emo is characterized by doing nothing about your insignificant problems other than whining about them. the video makes the purpose, stopping genocide in darfur, obvious. it also does something about it.
