Being 31 years old, Willie Nelson was a little before my time, but having heard him when I was very young, his songs stuck with me. Now, as an adult, I have a real appreciation for him. I don't usually like country music. I gravitate towards indie rock, but Willie crosses all boundaries and is a true American icon. I think that every generation needs to be exposed to the music of Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash. There's a depth there that isn't always found in today's music.
